Description

Dynatek Twin Fire II Coil | Single Fire | 2 Plug | Black

Dynatek Twin Fire II Coil is Single Fire Coil for single plugged head (2 spark plugs total) in single fire applications. It can be used with the majority of electronic ignition systems, such as Dyna 2000i, that use dwell control and have a primary resistance of 3 ohm (not for Dyna-S modules).

Specifications:

  • 3 OHM primary resistance
  • Colour: Black

The distinction between Single and Dual Fire is as follows:

Dual Fire: This refers to the operation of the older, non-Twin Cam engines. There is only one coil used, and both spark plugs burn at the same time. The most basic system is this one. It's sometimes said that the ‘wasted’ spark represents horsepower robbing.

Single Fire: The factory 00-up Twin Cam engines operate in a single-fire mode. The only spark plug of the cylinder that is on the compression stroke will be the only one to light thanks to two independent coils. These engines are supposed to tremble less and have more power. The effects increase in intensity with greater RPM and hotter cams.

Compatibility: 65-99 B.T. or 65-03 XL. For carbureted models with custom single fire electronic ignition (excl. Twin Cam & other single fire applications) (NU)

Note: Not compatible with Dyna-S ignition modules, which require 5 ohm primary resistance.

Note: It is recommended to use ignition modules & coils from the same manufacturer. Intermixing different brands may cause premature failure.
